The Retreiver’s skull is broad and its face is large which and well shaped. The ears are medium in size and are placed exactly above the eyes. For a healthy dog, the ear should be of pale pink color. Their eyes are dark and round and are spaced out well apart. Their eyes are covered by a black circle. The sclera in eyes must be white in color and not in yellow color. Their teeth are arranged properly and the upper tooth overlaps the bottom tooth. For a dog to have healthy teeth, the teeth must be white in color. Puppies have 18 smaller teeth more than their adult dog. But they lose them while they start growing up.

They have cheeks that are slim. Their chest is broader. They have a very good build. Their tail must be straight and it must not be curled at its tip or it should not face downwards. Their legs are straight. It has a round shaped foot. Their paws are similar to that of a lion cub’s paw. The entire body is covered by its coat. Their coat is silky, wavy ant lengthy, so it has to be trimmed. Mostly the color of the coat is golden or sometimes brown or brown shades. They have bulky pads which makes it feel suitable not only in land but also for paddling in water.
